First I can gather my entire friend list on youtube (I have a little over 2,000 friends) and then I can invite them all to subscribe to my videos. I think it’s a very powerful feature, with youtube marketing you will want as many views as possible. Anyway, posting in the top cities can get your site a ton of traffic. Using a craigslist autoposter will allow you to store ads, use rotating emails (to keep everything random and possibly bypass the filters), rotate your emails, *KEEP YOUR ADS AT THE TOP OF THE LISTINGS* (very important) and loads more.

I heard that craigslist likes to report to sponsors if you advertise your site on it. For example with adsense, they can get you banned quick. I imagine its the same for CJ but it depends on how you do it I guess. I don’t recommend you posting your site url hoping to make some clicks for adsense revenue unless you’re good at it. Anyone who sees 3 huge adsense ads on one page isn’t going to pay attention to your site anyway.
I’ve been using a craigslist auto posting program for the past week and it works great. If you’re really into craigslist, it’s definitely something worth buying. (as i said above)

Let me know when Digg wants someone who reads Digg all day. There are plenty of places to start, but the key is choosing a select field of expertise. If you just choose the ambiguous IT area, then the best you’ll probably get in jobs range from phone support, windows server administration, some networking support. If you choose software engineering, a sub field of IT, then you’re far more likely to get a better job.

I’ve found in my experience with software engineering that if you’ve got a specialised skill set in one area, people assume you also know about other IT areas as well. Software engineering is just one tier down.. Then you get an even narrower subset - embedded programming, server side, windows, linux, linux kernel programming, etc, etc..

A jack of all trades just doesn’t seem to work.

Same for networking..If you’re a network engineer, they assume you also know some programming - bash scripting etc, as well as some admin work.

So my advice is get down and dirty with the area you like the most in IT, whether that be programming, networking, linux and windows administration, animation, 3d modeling, etc. Learn it till your eyes bleed. Being an expert in one field is far more valuable than being good at many.

It may very well be frustrating, but companies are taking a big risk to take you on board. Training costs a lot.

Myspace is hardly any good these days for even marketing. I believe it’s too late for any myspace marketing. Why? Because of all of the spam these days. Myspace traffic really isn’t as pure as it once was. As soon as a myspace user sees the word “ringtone” or a hot girl sends them a “Friend Request” they completely ignore it and move on - they know it’s spam.

I believe Myspace is slowly becoming another “AOL Instant Messenger” - it will become less and less popular. People will still use the service - just not as often which means less page views - which means less ad revenue.

We all know myspace is very slow and filled with errors. Todd, the writer of the post says a drawback of myspace is the “Rather slow servers due to large volumes of traffic” I would like to add to it and say “Rather slow servers due to large volumes of traffic and poor coding skills”

The only worthwhile marketing technique is to create myspace layout generaters as well as other myspace widgets. This way myspace users will do the work for you by placing your link all over the place.

Besides that, we are planning a trip to the Florida Keys for Christmas. No one seems to be more excited than I.. and I’ve already been! We plan to drive down which will take 24 hours if we drive non-stop. We’re also going to camp on the beach like I did when I was 16. Lisa can’t wait to go snorkeling.

I’ve been working on SEO for all of my websites (wow how random) and have also been programming a lot. I love programming now.. it’s odd.

To be even more random - I’m trying to stop drinking soda, It’s amazing how addicted I am. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be addicted to cigarettes or any other drug, thankfully I’ve never involved myself with those things. there are several techniques that I’ve found on the web, one of them is to take “No doz”, apparently each pill contains 200MG of caffeine “about as much as a cup of coffee” to substitute a soft drink. Maybe none of that is necessary, maybe I just need more self control haha.
